David Ludwig

David Ludwig serves as a partner at Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig PLLC, where he focuses on a broad range of civil litigation areas. His expertise includes patent, trademark, copyright, internet/domain names, commercial transactions, government contracts, community associations, and bankruptcy law/creditor's rights. David has represented both local and national clients in federal and state court, as well as in bankruptcy proceedings. His experience includes defending manufacturing companies in patent infringement cases and assisting technology firms with trademark disputes. Notably, he has acted on behalf of copyright holders in infringement cases involving major entities such as Disney and ABC.

In 2012, David successfully argued before the Virginia Supreme Court, establishing a precedent that allows prevailing homeowners to recover attorneys' fees in disputes with Homeowners Associations over governing document violations.

David earned his law degree from The George Washington University Law School, graduating in the top third of his class. During his time there, he contributed as a student teacher in legal research and writing and served as an articles editor for the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal. Currently, he continues to share his expertise as an adjunct professor of scholarly writing, guiding law students on the AIPLA Quarterly Journal.

Before joining his current firm, David gained valuable experience at a Washington D.C. law firm, focusing on litigation and legislative policy in copyright and constitutional law.
